President’s Day Successful

On 11th April 2021, President’s Day was held for the 2020/2021 season when 35 bowlers arrived to play bowls. This was followed by a barbeque tea and then the presentation of wins in the championships for 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 took place.

President Neville Harris welcomed all to the greens despite the weather and he hoped they would have a good day. The eventual winners for the day were Marc Stevens, Bob Whitelaw and Denis Taylor.

The first presentations were the eight pins (an honour attained when an eight shot end is won in one game) these were the 2019/2020 winners:

Division 5: George Andrews, Bob Whitelaw, Marcus Mooney, Coral Williams

Division 1: Tony Kingma, Bill Jennings, Wayne Tiller, John Groat

Division 2: (ladies midweek pennant) Libby Byrne, Marc Stevens, Kay Stevens, Ann Sutcliffe

Ladies 60 & over: Pauline Naylor, Coral Williams, Judy Jennings, Mavis Bruce

February 2020: Mary Steen, Beryl Harris, Pauline Cunnew, Beth Alston

These were the 2020/2021 winners:

2019/2020 Championship results:

Men’s Champion: Ken Sutcliffe (who went on the win the ‘Champion of Champions’ in the Goulburn Valley)

Men’s Pairs: Shane Drysdale & Bill Jennings

Mixed Pairs: Anne & Ken Sutcliffe

B Grade Champion: David Clarke

21up Champion: Shane Drysdale

100 up: David Clarke

Ladies Champion: Margaretha Cerini
