Happy Birthday Audrey.

Audrey McIntosh, who has been the Euroa Bowls Club media correspondent for 40 years, has just had her 90th birthday.

Audrey joined the bowls club in 1963 as a foundation member and now she is the only one left out of that group who is still playing bowls. She has held many positions in what was then the ladies’ section of the club – president, secretary, treasurer, catering organiser, pennant selector, Goulburn Valley delegate and press reporter. She has played pennant since the club entered a second time in the Goulburn Valley several years ago and she said that she has been honoured to be in a winning side.

Audrey said “Both Bill (her husband, dec) and I have been Life Members of the club along with Bill’s father and we are the only family with three members who hold this honour. I have made many friends on the bowling green over the 57 years and here at Euroa the friendship has been outstanding, and I hope that this continues.”

Audrey’s husband, Bill, was secretary for a great many years and they both supported each other in what they have done for the club during that time. Audrey added “I hope to continue to have a great interest in the activities at this great club.”

In recognition of Audrey’s time and commitment to the club, a special afternoon tea was held following the pennant bowls match on Tuesday 2nd February. A small presentation was made to Audrey by the president Neville Harris.
